It's Never To Early For The Holidays!

Whether we want to believe it or not, the holidays are creeping up on us and High Point will soon be decked out in all things Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of the staple events that we can always count on during this season is the High Point Holiday Festival Parade that will be occurring on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 3pm! I was able to speak with Sharon Smith who is the current Parade Manager and get the inside scoop about this year's parade.

The High Point Holiday Festival Parade has been going on for decades and has continuously brought happiness and cheerfulness to ring in the holidays. Since 1925, the parade has consisted of fun talents, beautiful floats, and most importantly Santa Clause. The Guilford Merchants Association has been running the parade since 2008 and ever since 2010, the holiday parade has been hosted every Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Smith joined GMA in 2008 and her position with them is Membership Development where she gets to visit the different companies that are involved with GMA and build new relationships with new companies. Since GMA has been running the holiday parade, they look forward to seeing all the floats and audience members who come out to view the parade.

This year's parade will be COVID friendly by taking place outside and there is plenty of space for families to maintain their distance from others. Smith is excited to have the parade back again this year and to add on top of it, there will be a Selfie Sleigh in front of the High Point Library that will be going up on the week of November 15th.

If you are interested in being in the parade, visit their website here and fill out an application. The entry fee is $50, and line up begins at 1:30pm. GMA would like to thank their Presenting Partner which is Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and their Star Partner Ilderton.

Get ready and get excited because the holidays are just around the corner and the parade is coming up soon! I’m excited to see all the different floats and of course Santa Clause!
